Artfully Designed is a fashion jewelry boutique. The collection is comprised of a curated selection of trendy and modern designers from all around the world. Styles include pieces for every day, evening, and black-tie occasions.
What are your goals for 2020-2021?
As I enter Phase 2 of my business by setting up a website, my first goal is to go live with all my ducks in a row. When I first decided to change my business model from brick and mortar to ecommerce, I didn’t think about all that it entailed. I want to go through all the steps in the proper order, so I am willing to take the necessary time. My goal is to be up and running with a “successful” business. What that exactly means remains to be seen.
If you were any other profession, what would you be?
No doubt I would be a psychologist. I have always been very self-aware, and I am always looking to grow as a person. I have always been a great listener. I am fascinated by how life experiences shape a person’s mind and being for good (or not so good). Having the ability to help someone work through the difficult experiences to come out stronger is a beautiful thing.
What keeps you motivated to face the challenges small business owners face?
Each challenge is a chance to learn something new, and I love learning about all aspects of business; well most!
What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?
I have been asked this question before and honestly, I don’t have any fears as it relates to my business. I expect to succeed at some level. I hope to be highly successful. If It doesn’t work out for some reason, I will be proud of myself that I put my best foot forward and then move on, either to something else or to a life of leisure.

Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most? And why?
I admire Melinda of Melinda Maria Jewelry. She sells fashion jewelry just like Artfully Designed. Just 15 years ago Melinda started out and has since built an empire. Her designs are worn by A-list celebrities and influencers all around the world. I follow her in Instagram and another follower recently asked her a business question and she answered saying she was happy to help anytime. Now that is an amazing woman…making time for others who are just starting out.
How do you balance your time? Personal and professional
Family comes first but they are understanding of my commitment to Artfully Designed. I am constantly juggling so I can help with my grandchildren when needed and work around their schedule. I always know that I have early mornings and evenings to put time in as well.
What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?
Being with my grandchildren, hands down! I also love to play tennis and spend time at the beach. And shopping, of course!
