Maryland Surprise Proposal
Kye and Sue are engaged!
Kye, with the help of his future sister-in-laws, planned a special proposal for Sue. When they asked me to photograph it I was thrilled. Narisa and I work together at Bethesda Country Club, so she kept me in the loop throughout the planning stages. Kye wanted to incorporate a few of Sue’s favorite things in the proposal. Sue loves books, so Kye arranged to have the ring inside a book when he proposed. Narisa and her sisters were a huge part in making sure there was a planned and executing it.
First, they had to come up with a reason to get Sue on board without knowing what was going to take place, so we planned a “Father’s Day Photo Session”, it worked well since last month we did an actual Mother’s Day session for their family! The girls got all dolled up, makeup, nails and cute outfits. Although it was tough to talk Sue into getting her nails done, Narisa talked her into it. (After the proposal I asked Sue about this, and she was beyond happy that Narisa made her do it! ;)) Once everyone was in place for family photos we decided to do a few shots of each couple, when it was Kye and Sue’s turn a few family members ran to the car to get some props.
Little did Sue know the props were a sign to ask her hand in marriage! After finishing their couple photos with them looking over the water, Kye lead Sue by the hand. It took a second, but Sue looked up to see the sign her sisters were holding, that read “Sue Marry Me”, then Kye got down on one knee. After expressing his love, Kye pulled out the small book that held the ring. Sue didn’t hesitate to say “yes”! The whole family was a part of this very special moment, and there were definitely some tears falling!
After the proposal, I snagged Kye and Sue for some portraits. Kye was overwhelmed with excitement and nerves, while Sue was all sorts of giddy. It was precious.
