1000 Island Harbor Hotel Wedding

Nick and Emily tied the knot!

You may remember their engagement session from June; you can see it here. Well, here is there wedding. When we finalized details and confirmed I was going to upstate New York to photograph Nick and Emily’s wedding I was excited.

Philip and I left Thursday mid day to head towards Clayton, New York and 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. We arrived shortly after 8:00pm. It was stormy, with rain, wind and a cold chill. The rain didn’t stop until after we left Saturday! But the wedding was still beautiful, Emily made a gorgeous bride and Nick looked handsome. I loved how their wedding was elegant but still allowed for their cute quirky personalities to shine through. Emily and Nick share a special kind of love, I like to call it ‘best friend’ love. By the way they laugh together, poke fun at each other and the way they look into each other’s eyes you know they are best friends who fell in deep love.

Their wedding was themed with fall colors. The bridesmaids wore deep red tones, and the groomsmen complemented them perfectly with their matching bow ties.

The wedding favors were maple syrup, maple candies and popcorn. Considering we were right by the Canadian border, it was a great fit! Emily’s dress fit her personality, simple, elegant and gorgeous.

1000 Islands Harbor Hotel is a beautiful venue along St. Lawrence River. Near the hotel there are delicious brunch spots, art galleries and a brewery. Clayton, New York, has a small town feel with small homes, friendly faces and lots of boats to boot. St. Lawrence River surrounds 1000 Islands, which is an area between Canada and the United States border. There are 1,864 islands that stretch about 50 miles. On the islands there are homes, castles, and many different things. During the warmer (sunnier) months there are tons of tours and fun activities to do in 1000 Islands.

Nick and Emily are moving to San Diego next year. Emily is a health corpsman in the United States Navy and will be stationed there. I am sad to see them leave the area but I think they will have a great time in San Diego, if nothing else they can enjoy all the sun shine in the Golden State.

Here are their photos! Enjoy!
